Starbucks will start serving a new kind of breakfast sandwich next week.
Tuesday, Sept. 30, will mark the first day of the "Piadini". The square-shaped, Italian inspired sandwiches will come in two different varieties: sausage, egg, and cheese or portabella mushroom, spinach, and ricotta cheese. The cost will be $3.25 per sandwich.
Sagging sales due in part to the stagger economy has left Starbucks looking to food as a way to pick up the pace. Earlier this month the company unveiled a handful of new menu items including oatmeal cups, apple bran muffins, and a berry stella pastry.
The company said its first-ever "Thanksgiving Coffee blend" is on the agenda for later this fall.
