There has been much interests from the Japanese press about Big Bang’s debut album ‘Number 1′ release and the start of their Japanese promotional activities.
NikkanSports did a large-scale report on Big Bang’s Japanese debut on 10th October with the news article ‘Korea’s Hip Hop unit to debut in Japan’. Big Bang was introduced as ‘Korea’s EXILE‘ and ‘a 5-member group with the average age of 19.5′.
EXILE is a highly popular 7-member groups which does dance and vocal, and they have released 2 consecutive million-seller albums in Japan. And recently, they have also been featured as character models in a animation production.
In the news article, Big Bang was said to be the group, ‘which took the Kpop scene by storm with the release of the song ‘Lies’ last year’ and ‘they have accomplished perfection in Korea, and is preparing for their debut in Japan’.
It was also added that Big Bang ‘has already gained popularity amongst many fans in Japan’ with 3 songs out of the album within the top 10 positions for mobile phone music download. Amongst of the members, TaeYang is also able to speak in Japanese for interviews.
‘There will be an event in Tokyo Ikebukuro for their album release, and it is confirmed that more than 2000 fans will be present. And for the coming live performance on 1st November, the status of tickets sales is nearing sold-out condition of 16,000 tickets sold.’
